Description: In rural W. Kenya we have successfully set up workshops to make Biosand Water Filters which are able to filter the local river water, making it fit to drink even for us! Lab tests have confirmed that the water is rid of all harmful bacteria. The workshops then run as small businesses selling the filters.
Why: In rural W. Kenya we have successfully set up workshops to make Biosand Water Filters which are able to filter the local river water, making it fit to drink even for us! Lab tests have confirmed that the water is rid of all harmful bacteria. The workshops then run as small businesses selling the filters. We remain open to applications from communities in Western Kenya for a workshop and would consider applications from further afield. Whenever we visit we always drink the water ourselves and have never been sick
